Cash will NO longer be accepted going forward. The tax collector will NO longer be collecting payments in the municipal building. The tax collector will be moving over to the community building to the left of the municipal building on the lower level. The tax collector will NOT be in the office to collect in person until the discount period for the Wilson Area School District dates which are TENTATIVELY scheduled for August 26, 27, 30, and 31 from 2-4pm. Those bills will be mailed out July 1, 2021. Please check your bill for the actual dates. If in-person collection is canceled due to the Coronavirus, notice will be on the Township website, the Wilson Area School District Website.
YOU HAVE A COUPLE OF OPTIONS TO ENSURE YOUR PAYMENT GETS TO ME ON TIME
You can use the SILVER drop box in the wall of the municipal building to put your payment in as long as it is a check or money order and in a sealed envelope. NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED.
You can mail your payment to me ATTN: Jenny Frindt, 655 Cider Press Rd, Easton, PA 18042. As long as the postmark date is the due date of the bill or prior it will be accepted as on time. Please do not wait until the due date to put your payment in your home mailbox. I have had instances where taxpayers put the payment in their mailbox the day it is due but the post office didn’t postmark it until the next day. I have no control over when it is postmarked, and I must go by the postmarked date.
RECEIPTS FOR YOUR PAYMENT
If you would like a receipt returned to you, please enclose BOTH bill portions (the one that says “mail with payment” and the one that says “taxpayer copy”) AND a self-addressed stamped envelope.
If you have any questions or concerns, please give me a call at 484-541-1056 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you in advance for your flexibility and understanding during these difficult and unusual times while we work together to keep our community safe and healthy.
Your Tax Collector,
